Newsletter field not showing
If the newsletter sign-up field is not visible in the webshop, the Mailchimp integration has not been configured.
Check that:
The Mailchimp API key has been entered
Mailchimp LID (List ID) is selected
The settings have been saved
The newsletter function is activated automatically when the List ID is filled in.
NOTE: There is no separate on/off switch for the Mailchimp integration.
Audience list not showing
If the list of audiences is not shown in Telaris, there is usually an error in the API setup.
Check:
That the API key is correct
That the Server Prefix matches the Mailchimp URL
That the settings are saved before opening the List ID field
Example:
https://us21.admin.mailchimp.com
The Server Prefix should then be:
us21
Important: Do not paste the full URL as the Server Prefix.
Invalid email address
If the user enters an invalid email address in the footer sign-up field, Telaris displays an error message and the address is not sent to Mailchimp.
The system validates the email format before the request is sent.
Contacts not added to Mailchimp
If the sign-up appears to work, but the contact does not appear in Mailchimp:
Check that the API key is still valid
Check that the correct audience is selected
Check that the Mailchimp account is still active
API keys can become invalid if:
The password has been changed in Mailchimp
The key has been manually deleted
Mailchimp has deactivated the key
Tip: Create a new API key in Mailchimp and re-enter it if in doubt.
Mailchimp returns 503
The error message 503 Service Unavailable usually means that Mailchimp is temporarily unavailable.
This is a temporary issue on Mailchimp's side. Wait and try again later.
Consent not recorded
If eAccept is not recorded on the customer card, it is usually due to one of these reasons:
The customer was not logged in
The sign-up happened via the footer
The Mailchimp call failed
Consent is only recorded when:
The customer is logged in
The sign-up happens at checkout
Mailchimp confirms that the contact was added
NOTE: Footer sign-up does not update eAccept in Telaris.
Checkpoints
If the Mailchimp integration is not working as expected, check the following:
Mailchimp API key is valid
Server Prefix is correct
Correct audience is selected
The webshop is active
Newsletter field is visible in the frontend
Test sign-up appears in Mailchimp
