Customer number and customer types

At the top of the customer card are the customer and supplier numbers.

A new customer is assigned a new customer number on creation. The customer number is created based on a sequence stored in Telaris.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Private and business customers

Customers are divided into two customer types: Private customer and Business customer.

In standard Telaris, the customer type means that templates such as quotes and order confirmations will not include VAT on sent documents for the customer type Company.

The customer type Private gets templates including VAT.

Supplier

A supplier's role in the register is to run purchases against specific suppliers. A newly created supplier is given a supplier number based on a sequence in Telaris. A supplier does not get a customer number and cannot be used in orders and quotes.

Supplier / Company

A combination of customer and supplier, it contains both a customer number and a supplier number, and can be used as a customer in orders and a supplier in purchases.

Tip: If you want to change a company to a 'Supplier / Company', you can change the customer type and save. Telaris will then automatically create a supplier number. The same applies for changing a 'Supplier' to a 'Supplier / Company'.
